Project 90 & Afri -Twin Go Green!

On Saturday 30^th July, the Project 90 and
Afri – Twin learners went on a hike in the
Silvermine Nature reserve. Our purpose was to expose our learners to the natural world and the necessity for conservation.

Learners were taken up Silvermine hiking trail to Elephant’s Eye. Along the trail they learnt a lot about the flora and fauna, and got a healthy dose of exercise as many of them had never been hiking before.

This was a great day for the clubs and the learners enjoyed the experience and their interaction with each other, on a more casual basis. This was the club’s first social gathering, and we hope to have many more.

A True ”Normies” Champion

A proud congratulations to Andre September for achieving first place in the junior men’s Western Province Decathlon Champships held at Bellville Stadium on the 19th of March. This is a huge achievement, as a junior he also took third place overall - in the senior section of the event.

A decathlon is an athletic contest comprising 10 different track-and-field events and won by the contestant having the highest total score, it is the ultimate challange for any male athlete.

Andre will go on to represent our school as well as the Western Province in the South African Senior Championships to be held at Durban on the 9th and 10th of April this year. The school community salutes you!
