Choir
Our school choir has been in existence for three years, during this time we have participated in the annual Wynberg Boys choir festival and in the Sans Souci Girls High School FACETS program. Interact
Interact is a charity organisation, affiliated to Rotary International. We take part in community based projects which includes working with the underprivileged, the poverty stricken and the disabled.
Our motto is: Service Above Self’. Norman Henshilwood’s Interact club meets every Wednesday afternoon from 3pm – 4pm.
When the learners engage in special projects, they may leave later but they will be given advanced notice of such occasions. Weekly meetings involve planning for projects, dealing with requests for assistance, advertising events, games and activities to promote bonding, etc.
There are some standard activities for each year such as the Blisters for Bread walk, One-to-One, Blind Buddies and Easter egg collection. Other than those activities we respond to requests by charity organisations or we plan our own activities like serving hot chocolate at a shelter. Interact is a good place for any learner who has the compassion to want to do service in the community while learning leadership skills, methods of communication and also having good, clean fun.
Interact is run by the learners themselves under the supervision of an educator, Ms F Nefdt.
