Portfolio Head: Fixed Assets and Stocktaking
Mr Adams qualified as a History and Afrikaans teacher from UWC in 1981. He joined Portland High in Mitchells Plain where he focused only on teaching Afrikaans Home Language and First Additional Language and coached rugby and soccer. At Portlands High he had the honour of teaching the learner who achieved the first position for Afrikaans Home Language in the country under the ex-House of Representatives Education Department. After teaching for three years, he was afforded the opportunity to become an HOD at the same school taking charge of the Stocktaking and Requisition portfolio. He was promoted to Senior HOD at Salt River High where he also became the Deputy Principal. Mr Adams decided to take early retirement in 1996 but his love for teaching brought him back after only three months. He took up a post at Plumstead High and then jumped at the opportunity to teach in a Governing Body post at Norman Henshilwood High in 1998 where he continues to teach Afrikaans First Additional Language. He is also a marker for matric examinations and is Head of Afrikaans at Norman Henshilwood.
