This is achieved through participation in various activities, exercises and games.

The five fitness components (Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscle Strength, Muscle Endurance, Flexibility and Body Composition) form the foundation of the Physical Education programme, along with sport skills (throwing & catching, kicking & stopping, hitting, movement patterns) and life skills, like Swimming and Orienteering. Boys and Girls participate in these activities separately, twice per cycle and are encouraged to maintain general fitness levels throughout the year. During our Physical Education lessons, we engage with the pupils about these topics:

  • Benefits of physical activity
  • Safety issues relating to physical activity
  • Personal health and fitness goals
  • How our body executes movements
  • Nutrition and exercise

Possible careers that are promoted through Physical Education are Personal Training, Fitness Instructing, Advanced / Beginner Coaching, Umpiring and Officiating roles and Athlete Management to name a few. All these careers require a passion for physical well-being and a clear understanding of the sporting world.[/ultimate_heading][/vc_column][/vc_row]
